ABOUT

I created this blog to post my favorite recipes I have found on the Internet or other people have given me in the past or I have created myself. Most of the recipes I have printed end up getting stuffed in a drawer in the kitchen and then I start sorting through a stack of papers for a particular recipe. Therefore, I have decided to create a blog to have easier access to my favorite recipes and to share with others.

Chocolate Cake

INGREDIENTS:
     2 cups sugar
     1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
     3/4 cup HERSHEY'S Cocoa
1 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoons of baking soda
     1 teaspoon salt
     2 eggs
     1 cup milk
     1/2 cup vegetable oil
     2 teaspoons vanilla extract
     1 cup boiling water

DIRECTIONS:
     1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F.
     2. Grease and flour two 9-inch pans.
     3. Mix sugar, flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
     4. Add eggs, milk, oil and vanilla.
     5. Stir in boiling water.
     6. Pour batter into pans.
     7. Bake 30-35 minutes or until wooden pick in center comes out clean.
     8. Cool for 10 minutes.

VARIATIONS:
#1: Reduce the sugar in half (it still tastes good to me)
#2: Cut ingredients into half and use a smaller pan to create a snack size cake.
